“I am delighted to launch the 2018 ‘Championing difference: Civil Service Diversity and Inclusion Awards’.
The Awards are now in their 12th year, and I continued to take great pleasure in seeing the wide range of nominations each year, demonstrating the inspiring and creative work that our civil servants are doing right across the UK. Being nominated for an award is recognition of the contribution and success of those colleagues who have gone out of their way to champion difference and to make the Civil Service a great place to work.
It is our ambition to make the Civil Service the UK's most inclusive employer by 2020. This will only happen when differences of background and points of view are truly valued in a Civil Service that is diverse, inclusive and constantly challenging itself to do better.
These awards provide an opportunity to showcase our success and I strongly encourage you to participate. If you know of an individual or team doing outstanding work in this area, then please do nominate them.”
